Pregnancy testing sows at day 21 to 28 is a very economical procedure in modern pork production. Sows are relatively easy to ultrasound when restrained in a crate. With more production switching to loose housing for sows, pregnancy testing is more of a challenge. The BoviScan S60 or ReproScan Flexx with a 3.5 MHz C60 T handle probe is ideal for pregnancy testing sows transabdominally in crates and/or loose housing. Most people prefer the Vista goggles for this job. The BoviScan S60 or Flexx can be worn with the waist strap or put in a backpack for added protection.
Pregnancy testing sows can also be done very effectively with the ReproScan XTC, BoviScan Curve and the ReproScan Flexx using the 4.0 MHz convex rectal probe. Use a deep setting so the sow’s uterus is easy to see.
The OJO V4s offer a lightweight, streamlined design allowing you increased peripheral vision. A simple design with multiple mounting options makes it customizable for your environment. With the sunshade, these goggles afford you the ability to work out in the bright sunlight.
The Everyday Ultrasound is designed for rural mixed animal practice. You will use the Flexx to improve examinations of every species in the clinic and out on the road.
BoviScan S-60 is a portable, light weight ultrasound unit designed for pregnancy diagnosis in sows, sheep and goats. The S-60 has a convex array probe with no moving parts, making it much more durable and reliable than mechanical sector probes.
