One of our favorite things to do is to share some tips and tricks throughout the year with our Troy’s Tip Tuesday Posts. Here are some of our favorites that we shared in 2024, these can also act as some reminders as well!
1. Service check reminder
We highly recommend sending in your ultrasound equipment every other year for a full service check. We will clean your equipment, check for any preventative maintenance measure to avoid a costly breakdown in the future, and ensure that your ultrasound is working at its full potential. Schedule yours today by giving ReproScan a call at 877-890-2411.
2. Only use RepoScan’s specific charger for your ultrasound!
It’s incredibly important to only use the charger that came with your ultrasound package. Using chargers meant for other equipment, even if they seem to “fit” the charging port could result in electrical damage to your ultrasound.
Make sure that anyone with access to your ultrasound who may be responsible for charging it is aware and knows which charger is for your ultrasound. If you have multiple and aren’t sure what to use, give us a call or send us a picture at inquiry@repro-scan.com and we will happily answer any charging questions, and even send you a ReproScan sticker to label your ultrasound charger for easy identification.
Additionally, we recommend plugging your ultrasound into a surge protector, and avoid plugging it into a generator. A power surge has the potential to fry your mainboard, which is an expensive repair. Practicing safe charging will help your ultrasound last longer!
3. Heat plate reminder
Your ultrasound unit has a heat plate meant to dissipate the heat that the unit puts out. It’s always important, bust especially in hot weather, to keep this area uncovered, allowing it to “breathe”, so that your ultrasound unit doesn’t get too hot, as that could overheat your ultrasound. Not sure where your heat plate is on your ultrasound? Give us a call and we can show you!
4. Online Courses Available
You can’t have an ultrasound expert by your side for every scan, but you can review our online resources before your checks! Our YouTube page is full of videos on identifying opens and short breds, fetal aging and fetal sexing. We recommend hopping on YouTube the night before a preg check and taking 15 minutes to review. By training your eye to see what’s “normal” you will be able to identify abnormalities easily!

5. Use the freeze button!
For better battery optimization, remember to press the freeze button on your ultrasound when you’re in between groups or when you have extended breaks in your preg checking day.
