Why You Need A ReproArm This Fall!

Here at ReproScan, we understand how quickly your arm and shoulder begins to wear out after years of palpating. The strain your shoulder goes through can quickly add up, especially if you have been preg-checking for years. Thankfully we have found the surefire solution to this ongoing problem. The ReproArm is our version of an extension arm. We have specially designed it to have a specific bend, surface area, and durability, making it not only easier on you, but also easier on your cattle. Our ReproArm is meant to fit with our convex rectal probe, providing a large viewing area.

So why do you need a ReproArm this fall? As stated previously, it is extremely helpful for saving wear and tear on your arm. It will also be an extremely easy and quick process for those cattle going in and out of the chute. Plus, it allows for a safe, quick, and easy day of preg-checking.

We understand that each customer has different situations they may encounter, so we have designed 3 sizes of ReproArms. These sizes include:

• Regular Arm: 32" 81 cm used for most bovine extension arm ultrasounding • Shorty Arm: 23" 59 cm used for heifers and short breds in a hydraulic chute • Mini Arm: used for small ruminant and camelids

Don’t take our word for it! Take a look at what Dr. Scott Davis has to say about pairing your ultrasound machine with an extension arm in the playlist below. In the playlist, you can also find Elle explaining the difference between the regular ReproArm and the shorty ReproArm. She shares some great advice for deciding which arm may be the best fit for you.

Already have a ReproArm?

Here are some reminders for those of you who already have a ReproArm: • Make sure you remove your probe from the ReproArm after each use to ensure equipment stays clean and in good condition. • If manure or lube has dried around the probe, consider washing the ReproArm and probe in warm water first, or have someone else pull the probe out while you flex the ReproArm. • Do not carve your ReproArm. Doing so may result in over-carving and the fitting becoming too loose. If you are having trouble with inserting your probe into the ReproArm, watch the video below to see step-by-step instructions. It takes some practice!
