Equipment Care- Are You Taking Care of Your Batteries?

Receiving the new monitor
When you receive your new monitor, it will not be fully charged. Please make sure to turn on the hard power switch on the back of the monitor, then plug it in using the included power supply. When the light on the front panel turns blue, your monitor is fully charged and ready to use.

Battery level indicator
Your monitor comes with the battery level indicator turned on. When the monitor is on, you should see a number in the upper right-hand corner. This is the percentage of monitor battery life you have left.

Storing your monitor during the off season
To store your monitor for more than a few weeks:

· Turn off monitor and charge battery to 60%

· Turn off hard power switch on back of monitor

Please note that there will be a small amount of battery discharge even when the hard power switch is turned off. This is normal. When you are ready to use it again, turn on the hard power switch and charge to 100%.

Tips for extending the life of your battery
To get the longest life from your battery, take these steps every couple of weeks. (During active use):

· Fully discharge the battery (run the battery dead) until it turns itself off. This is the easiest accomplished by hooking it up to your ultrasound while it is turned on. This will keep the auto-shutoff from turning the monitor off.

· Fully charge the battery (with monitor turned off) until the blue light shows on the front panel, before each use.

· Repeat previous 2 steps as much as possible.

You certainly do not have to do this after each use or even once a week. But if you can do this somewhat regularly it will go a long way towards extending your battery’s life.

We all know that technology can be temperamental. Are you having troubles with your 2.0 Monitor? Luckily, with our ultrasound monitors, it’s an easy fix! Here are some tips and tricks that may help you out! First thing, are you using the switch in the back? This switch must be in the “ON” position to charge. Second, did you know that the battery can be reset? So let’s reset it before we do any repairs!

1. Connect the ultrasound to the monitor (either wireless or plugged in)

2. Connect your ultrasound to its charger

3. Turn on the monitor and the ultrasound and leave to run

4. Run until the monitor is completely dead (black screen / and wont turn on) Usually it shuts off at around 4-5%

5. Turn off your ultrasound unit

6. Plug in and charge the monitor

7. If you have the 2.0 monitor with a hard shut off switch, make sure the switch is in the “ON“ position to charge

8. Charge Fully – give it a full 12 hours or until it gets above 98% (upper right hand indicator)

9. While charging, please do not unplug it, it needs an uninterrupted full charge to reset the battery.

10. If it does not reach this point let me know

11. If it does, than you should have the full charge back on your monitor

With the touch screen always pulling on the monitor battery, it might need a reset every now and then if you don’t use the hard shut off switch often. The battery has a “memory” of sorts.

Another tip if you do ever have to plug into a rural or “unreliable” power source, such as a generator, you may consider using a surge protector and line conditioner. This is a relatively inexpensive way to add some peace-of-mind when you have to charge your battery with a questionable power source.
